Celebrating excellence is a cornerstone of our values, and today, we’re thrilled to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Kiran, Naomi, Ellen, and Lajayda, our distinguished recipients of the prestigious Jack Petchey Award for 2024. Selected by their coaches for their outstanding contributions, these exceptional individuals exemplify dedication, perseverance, and remarkable talent.

Every year, we have the privilege of honouring four outstanding juniors with the Jack Petchey Award of Excellence, and this year’s cohort is truly exceptional. Kiran, Naomi, Ellen, and Lajayda have demonstrated exemplary commitment to their craft, inspiring their peers and coaches alike with their passion and determination.

As we look forward to the Jack Petchey ceremony in April 2025, we eagerly anticipate the opportunity to formally recognize and celebrate their achievements. Each winner will receive their official award, a testament to their hard work and exceptional character.

Kiran Patal

Ky Lewis nominated the Jack Petchey Award to Kiran Patel for her extreme passion, consistency and love for the sport. Her work ethic and hard work are unmatched and never go unnoticed setting her up to be one of the best players in the whole of Newlife Netball Club including the adult division. Her court craft and netball IQ are so advanced at such a young age and has always impressed. Her changes of direction, passing ability and shooting percentage give her that advantage over anyone she plays against. with her foot already in the door playing at top franchisers across the country, Kiran has the potential to go extremely far in her netball journey and is becoming a big 'one to watch' in the community.

Naomi Lawson

Awarded the Jack Petchey Award by Kerry Gait, Naomi is the most dedicated, committed, kind young lady. She encourages others, always makes new players feel welcome and supports the whole team. Naomi is a true inspiration and has a real determination to succeed and help others. She is a fabulous role model.

Lajayda Scarlett

Elsie Lewis nominated Lajayda for the Jack Petchey Award in recognition of her passion, consistency, and love for netball. Her unmatched work ethic and dedication never go unnoticed. As the captain of the U14 team, she leads with both passion and clarity. Additionally, she plays with the U16 team, where she consistently demonstrates confidence and skill, never intimidated by the older players. Lajayda's advanced netball IQ is impressive for her age, and she possesses the potential to achieve great success in her netball journey.
